Heatmap by Gene — Normalised Count Expression

Header: Heatmap - Gene: Normalised Count Expression

The Gene Expression Heatmap displays a color-coded matrix of Z-scores computed from log2 normalised counts. Each row represents a gene and each column represents a sample. The color scale ranges from blue (low expression / negative Z-score) through white (average) to red (high expression / positive Z-score).

Info

If the total number of genes passing your filters is very large, the platform limits the display to the top 500 genes by variance for readability, and shows an informational banner (e.g., "145991 genes selected — showing top 500 by variance for readability").

The heatmap enables you to visually identify clusters of co-expressed genes and see how expression patterns differ across sample groups.

Z-score Table (Expandable)

Below the heatmap, an expandable Z-score Table provides the numerical Z-score values for each gene across all samples. Columns include: gene_id, and one column per sample (e.g., MT-125T-S1, MT-125T-S2, etc.).
