The Bar chart summarizes how many genes are upregulated versus downregulated across different functional categories (gene descriptions). This helps you quickly see which biological functions are most affected in your comparison.

Gene Description Source Dropdown

At the top of the tab, a dropdown labeled "Gene description source" lets you choose between:

  • Filtered — Shows counts only for genes that match the current sidebar gene description filter.
  • Other available options depending on your dataset.

Important

To generate the bar chart, you must first select gene descriptions in the sidebar Filter by gene desc dropdown. If no gene descriptions are selected, the platform displays an informational message: "Select gene descriptions to filtered in the sidebar to see the bar chart."

Once gene descriptions are selected, the bar chart displays horizontal bars showing up and down gene counts for each selected category.
